Spring Fair, Silent Auction, and Raffle 2026

5/11/2026 9:09 am

YOU'RE INVITED:  Sunday, May 31, 2026, 11 am-3 pm

WHAT IS THE SPRING FAIR?

The Spring Fair is an annual community event with carnival-like games, activities, and food held at the Morse School. In past years, we have had bouncy castles, a dunk tank, face painting, basketball, booths from Cambridge Math Circle & Mass Audubon Society, and more! This year, we are once again closing down Granite street to make it an official Block Party as well.

There will be NO entry fee again this year! That's right, this community event is free to attend and participate in all the activities.

The Spring Fair is also a fundraiser for the Friends of the Morse School, our school's volunteer organization of parents and caregivers. Please consider participating in the raffle and the silent auction to help us cover our costs and do some fundraising! Check back regularly for the updated list of prizes that will be available. (see below)

All Morse School and Cambridgeport community members are invited to enjoy the Spring Fair. There is no need to participate in the silent auction or raffle in order to attend. We want everyone to come and hang out and have a great time, and hope to raise some money in the process!

VOLUNTEERS

We need 40+ volunteers to staff the various activities throughout the event. As of this update we have....8. Please consider helping for an hour or two! Set-up, clean-up, ticket sales, food sales, activity supervising or running - lots of options!

RAFFLE

All Morse School students should receive one free raffle ticket along with a flyer in their school folder a couple of days before the event. Additional raffle tickets are available for purchase at the event. $2 per ticket, or 3 tickets for $5. Raffle winners will be selected around 2 PM. If you will not be in person during the raffle selection, please be sure to put your name and contact information on the back of each raffle ticket.

SILENT AUCTION

A silent auction is an event where items for sale are displayed for attendees to browse, place bids on, and purchase. Unlike traditional auctions, there is no auctioneer present. Instead, participants write their bids silently on a bid sheet (a piece of paper). Check back throughout the event to see if you've been outbid, and then raise your bid! We encourage friendly competition to drive up the bids! All proceeds go towards the Friends of the Morse School.

The bid sheet indicates the minimum bid amount and the minimum increase requirement. The minimum increase requirement dictates how many dollars more a bid must be than the last. Once the bidding has ended at 2 PM and the winning bids have been announced, winners can complete their transactions and collect their items.
